District Heating implements thermal solar energy

In summer 2010 the citizens in the danish city Oksbøl will get their hot water based on thermal solar energy. On the 1st of October District Heating in Oksbøl signed a contract about the delivery of 10,000 m2 solar collectors, which starts up in May 2010. 729 solar panels will form the basis for a heat production equivalent to approx. 18% of the annual heat consumption.

Calculations show that a thermal solar installation is a good business already the first year. Moreover the environment will benefit from it. Environment will be saved for approx. 1.530 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to each household reduces CO2 emissions by 1-1.5 tons annually.
