SUNMARK A/S and Marstal district heating are partners concerning the extension of the largest solar installation.
The enlargement of the thermal solar installation in Marstal is 1 out of 11 selected EU energy projects, which now receive a grant totaling 46 million DKK for the expansion of the existing solar heating plant with 15,000 m2.
Besides the delivery of the solar panels SUNMARK also is responsible for the turnkey solution, including the delivery of the heat exchange station and the connection with the biomass boiler, heat pump and ORC. The panels are developed and designed particularly for the specific installation in Marstal.
The thermal solar plant will be finished presumably 2011 supplying 55% of the total energy in Marstal. The remaining heat will come from locally growing willow. A 4 MW wood chips boiler is also part of the big project, which ensures that Marstal’s citizens will be 100% supplied by local and sustainable energy sources. A heat storage of 75,000 m3 will ensure optimal output of the solar heat far into the autumn.
The work will begin early 2010 and finish presumably 2011.
